John Brennan: ‘A Number of Countries Have Pulled Out Hundreds of Millions of Dollars in Gold Assets’ from U.S.

‘It’s their confidence in the integrity of our system of justice here and our rule of law, that they can no longer have confidence in’

EXCERPT:

BRENNAN: “But, you know, foreign entities, foreign companies, and countries and others invest in this country and put their money in this country, in our banks and our companies because they have some confidence that if they needed to have legal redress, that they can count on the courts. But what signal are we sending now to these countries around the world and companies and other investors that you really cannot count on this country? We’ve already seen that a number of countries have pulled out hundreds of millions of dollars in gold assets. I think it’s because it’s their confidence in the integrity of our system of justice here and our rule of law that they can no longer have confidence in. And so, I think this is just insidiously damaging on so many fronts, not just for the individuals that are being targeted, like myself and others, but what does it do to our system of governance and to the country as a whole.”
