Jamaal Bowman: James Talarico Is Reaching Black Voters and ‘Meeting People Where They Are’
EXCERPT:
BOWMAN: "It is, it always is, because Democratic candidates historically do a poor job of reaching into the black community to meet people where they are and bringing them into the conversation I think Talarico has been a bit different. His campaign from the very beginning has been an inspiring campaign, a national campaign, one that I’ve paid attention to from the very beginning. You know, he was recently at HBCUs and Homecomings and really hitting the ground in those spaces where a lot of black voters exist. And black voters are not going to be voting for Paxton. That’s not going to happen. And to Trump’s upside or lack thereof, Trump doesn’t have any upside left in my opinion. He’s lied to the American people about holding the Epstein class accountable He’s lied about us going to war. We’re in a war He’s lied about prices coming down. Trump has lied. Paxton is a terrible candidate. Talarico has been great and I think he’s going to have enough turnout, particularly with the Latino voters that you mentioned, where he’s going to pull this off."
