COONS: “I suspect President Trump and Secretary Hegseth were directly involved. Look, President Trump campaigned on ending the war between Russia and Ukraine on day one. Well, here we are, a long way past day one. And he’s been incorrectly blaming Ukraine and their defense of their freedom as the cause for the rising costs of diesel and gasoline. And Trump is directly violating our own sanctions against importing Russian oil and gas, something that passed the Senate unanimously back in 2022. So, bluntly, at the end of the day, what matters most to me is that we apply concerted pressure to get to the bottom of why this was allowed to happen and of what the consequences would be if it happens again.”
