Steven L. Schleicher, Lawyer of the Family of Alex Pretti: How Is It Possible that the DoJ Is Not Sharing Evidence?

‘I’ve just never seen a case conducted like this’

EXCERPT:

SCHLEICHER: “When asked about this case during his confirmation hearing, the Attorney General, Todd Blanche, pledged that the investigation into Alex's killing would run, and I quote, 'like every other investigation.' I've spent over two decades working in state and federal law enforcement, and I've just never seen a case conducted like this. And I've never seen a family treated with such cruelty and disrespect. And so we ask the Department of Justice, provide all of the evidence. Stop fighting the state. Stop fighting the state in court. Let the evidence come out. Let the evidence come to light, and the evidence will speak for itself in court. I understand and respect that investigations take time, and that's important. It's important to the integrity of those investigations that they be conducted in a thorough and deliberate manner. But this nine months of silence and stonewalling, why would it take nine months for the federal government to share the evidence that it has with other law enforcement agencies? Why won't the Department of Justice provide basic information that the Prettis are entitled to under the Crime Victims' Rights Act?”
