Troy Jackson: People in Maine Are Upset with Susan Collins Because She Won’t Stand Up to Trump

‘Voting with him 96% of the time’

EXCERPT:

JACKSON: “Sure. I mean, I think you just brought it up. The tariffs are really crushing the state. You know, blanket tariffs, you know, the Iran war, fuel prices. I mean, it’s, you know, heating oil season is here. You know, it’s going to get worse. Prices always go up when cold, colder months come. And, you know, in Maine with, you know, fishing, forestry and farming, those industries depend on diesel. And it’s at an all-time high. You look at our healthcare system. I mean, we were going to lose $3-$5 billion in Medicaid funding, SNAP benefits, a lot of funding. And then, you know, the other thing that goes back all the way back six years ago is, you know, putting Kavanaugh on the bench. You know, that is an economic issue for people here in Maine, too. I mean, when to decide to have a family, when and if you can. All these things are what I hear about consistently from people in Maine right now. They’re upset with Susan Collins because she won’t stand up to Donald Trump, voting with him 96 percent of the time.”
