Steve Moore: It’s a ‘Perception Versus Reality’ Situation with the U.S. Economy Right Now

‘We have record amounts of investment, record amounts of new manufacturing, record amounts of new construction projects going on in America’

EXCERPT:

MOORE: “Well, you know, it’s a perception versus reality situation right now. So, the perception, if you look at consumer sentiment and so on, is negative about the economy. And yet, Kevin Hassett is right. If you look just objectively at so many of the measures of the economy other than the gas price, I mean, Kevin is right, we have record amounts of investment. We have record amounts of new manufacturing. We have record amounts of new construction projects going on in America. We have, in addition to all those, the litany of statistics that he cited, I would cite another one, that we have the lowest poverty rate in the history of the United States, Stuart, for blacks, for Hispanics, for young — for children, etcetera. So, there is a lot that’s right in this economy. There’s no question we have the best economy in the world. I mean, every other country in the world would love to have the American economy, and yet, people are feeling — they’re not feeling the love right now, and that’s the big problem as Republicans go into the election next week.”
