David Jolly: ‘I Was Really Honored’ to Have Obama and Bill Clinton Endorse Me for Fla. Governor
EXCERPT:
JOLLY: “We know that this is now a contrast of values on the economy more than anything, right? We're in a midst where the economic grip is hard on a lot of people, more people going without health care than ever before, unable to afford their rent, people worried about where to educate their kids. And so you've got a slate of Democratic candidates talking about housing, health care, and education, and on the other side of the aisle you have candidates talking about radicalism, socialism, and communism. And I think what you hear in the voices of a President Obama or a President Clinton is an era where, look, the basic values in the Democratic Party was that the economy should work for everybody. We're going to let the private sector lead, but government's got to fill in the gaps, housing, health care, and education. And sure, in a state like Florida that's known for culture wars, we're going to be a place, once again, where everybody's rights are protected, their dignity respected. This race is now a contrast of values. I was really honored to have both former presidents come in last week.”
