Sanders: Trump’s ‘Racism Is Not New’ — Fifteen Years Ago, He ‘Came up with the Lie’ About Obama’s Birthplace

EXCERPT:

SANDERS: "And perhaps what disgusts me most about Donald Trump is that he is a racist and the most divisive president that we have seen in a very long time.
(Cheering and Applause)
I think all of you know his racism. His racism is not new. 15 years ago, he came up with this lie that Obama was not born in America. He started his campaign in '24 by announcing that Mexicans are rapists and murderers.
(Audience boos)
And every other day he is attacking women of color in Congress as low IQ.
(Audience boos)
And tragically, but not surprisingly, much of this campaign in Michigan right now are based on racist attacks against Abdul El-Sayed.”
