Dem Rep. Khanna: We Could Have ‘Explosive Economic Growth’ if We Stopped Having Bloated Defense Budget

‘And we would deal with economic inequality’

RUSH EXCERPT:

KHANNA: "Do they? France does not have productive investment spending the way we do. The question is, what are you spending on? First of all? So France is about 57% of GDP. Public spending, and we‘re about 40%. but we also have a privatized tax here on health care. They don‘t have that. They have about 11% of GDP on health care. We have 18%. so you have to compare the numbers with that in mind. But what I would say is if this country stopped investing in these overseas wars, stopped wasting money on private health insurer executives, and big pharma‘s excessive profits, stopped having bloated defense budget, started investing in the education, health care and child care for people. We would have explosive economic growth, and we would deal with economic inequality.”
