Ariz. Sec. Of State Fontes: If DoJ Wants to Come to Arizona to Monitor Elections, They’ll Have to Get Each Person Cleared by the County Republican Party Chair

‘As political observers can do under Arizona’s law’

RUSH EXCERPT:

FONTES: “Well, Democratic strongholds, Maricopa is one of them, but that’s about 62% of our votes. That’s definitely a battleground county, pima, very strongly democratic. Navajo. Apache. And as I recall, there’s one other state that I can’t think of off the top of my head. But, you know, this is not unusual. Here’s the difference. Now that they filed the lawsuit that they have in Alaska, it’s clear to me that the Department of Justice is acting as a political wing of the Republican Party on behalf of Donald j. Trump. And so if they’re going to want to come to Arizona and monitor our elections, they’re going to have to get each individual coming to monitor cleared by the county Republican Party chair, as political observers can do under Arizona’s law. I mean, that’s the way they want to act. Then that’s the way that we will allow them to do their work.”
