FRENCH: “Well, he was already tapping into a preexisting level of cruelty in the Republican Party. So, there was stuff that was already there. But I tell you, Katy, think about this. In 2017, Alabama rejected Roy Moore. Alabama rejected Roy Moore in 2017, one of the reddest states in the country. I think if you run that race again, I’m not sure the same thing happens. I think that the rot, the moral rot in the Republican Party has become so thorough and so comprehensive that it’s difficult to wrap our minds around.”
