Rep. Lawler: Ilhan Omar’s Response to ‘Whether or Not You Married Your Own Brother’ Was ‘Bizarre at Best’

LAWLER: "Well, obviously this is a very serious matter. And if she lied to get into this country, made false claims on her immigration forms as she applied to become a citizen, the public has a right to know, and the American people deserve a very clear and unambiguous answer. I mean, saying, 'Not to my knowledge, even if you’re joking about it seems bizarre in response to a question about whether or not you married your own brother. That should be a definitive no. And so I thought her response was bizarre at best. But the fact that she seemingly has been operating under an alias as a sitting member of Congress, she needs to answer these questions directly to the public, and quickly. And I think she certainly owes that to the American people as sitting elected official.And obviously, this is a serious matter that the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security are pursuing."
