Josh Kraushaar: Polling Fraud Is a Really Big Problem

‘A poll in Michigan in the primary Senate race showing El-Sayed doing better than he actually did do’

EXCERPT:

KRAUSHAAR: "This is a real problem. It's polling fraud where people are starting their own firms, making up numbers and shaping the perception on some of these important races. We saw in Wisconsin, people thought that the socialist candidate was actually doing much better than she — she ended up losing the nomination. There was a poll in Michigan in the primary, in the Senate race, showing Abdul El-Sayed doing a lot better than he actually did do in the primary. There's some indication that these groups are trying to boos progressives and left-wing Democrats and making it seem like they are much stronger than they actually are. So this is a really big problem at a time when we're not trusting a lot of things, a lot of institutions, a lot of polling data coming out there. I mean, I always look at the Fox News polls as a gold standard. There are a handful of pollsters that are true and tested and have reliable information, but then there are these fly-by polls that people have never heard of and they're shaping the perception inaccurately, as it turns out, in many of these big races."
