Axios’ Madison Mills Reports on Unvetted AI Agents Accessing U.S. Bank Accounts
EXCERPT:
MILLS: "Yeah. So, to be clear, as you mentioned, Sara, in the majority of cases in our reporting, these are users kind of unknowingly doing something against the bank‘s terms of service. So granting access to an AI agent to your bank account that, you know, the bank hasn‘t had the chance to vet that AI agent yet. But as you also mentioned, there did appear to be instances in our reporting where agents took actions outside of what individuals intended those agents to do. One of those examples is an agent calling into the bank to complain about something in a user‘s account without clearing that action by that user first. So that‘s just one example of what those kind of unintended actions that the agent may take could potentially look like."
