MATTHEWS: "You know, I always liked Mike DeWine. I basically worked for Democrats all my life, but I totally like Mike DeWine. There is a goodness in the guy, and it comes out here where you actually — I talked about the Republican gut. Does — what’s your gut say when you see the sleaze? And you’re speaking completely right, Donnie. The sleaze of this ad shows Trump at his worst. Why is Trump backing this? Why is he — this guy can’t be his favorite candidate for governor of Ohio. Vivek Ramaswamy, a crazy. But I do think top of the ticket matters, and top of the ticket is going to help Sherrod Brown, which is great for — I think it’s a great win for him. And I think — I agree with you. The Rorschach test, it’s your gut. It’s your funeral. Why are you going to — why do you vote? What makes you who you are? Well, if you’re a Republican, you probably don’t like Democratic liberals. Fine. You don’t like Schumer, fine. If you’re a liberal, you basically don’t like big corporations. I understand that. You have a gut feeling of what turns you off. Why doesn’t Trump turn people off? Why doesn’t Vivek Ramaswamy symbolize Trump? He is sleazy that way. And by the way, it's a loser's tactic. It's what you do on the way down the chute."
