Scott Jennings: Michael Whatley Got into the Senate Race with the ‘Endorsement of President Trump’

TRANSCRIPT:

JENNINGS: "Well, one thing about North Carolina is, is that President Trump has done quite well there, A). B) Michael Whatley is a friend of his. He ran the Republican National Committee, he‘s been a loyal supporter of President Trump. I think he got into the Senate race at the behest of, and with the endorsement of, President Trump. So I see it as — you know, regardless of how you see the political situation there today, he‘s remaining loyal to someone who has been very loyal to him. And I don‘t know what‘s going to happen on Election Day down there. I‘ve seen the polls and I hear all the conjecture, but I know that the president and Michael Whatley are very connected, and Whatley has been very loyal to him and I see the president returning the favor."
