Mamdani: Abdul El-Sayed’s ‘Victory... Is of Critical Importance to Our City’

‘Because what it also indicates is a willingness to chart a new course in Washington that has working people at the heart of it’

EXCERPT:

MAMDANI: “Our movement here in New York City is a movement that is part of something national, which is a fight for working people. When you think about Dr. El-Sayed’s campaign, I often go back to the way that he describes it — money out of politics, money in your pocket, Medicare for all. Those are concerns that ring true for Michiganders. They’re also concerns that ring true for New Yorkers. And I think that his victory and the victory of Democrats across this country is of critical importance to our city because what it also indicates is a willingness to chart a new course in Washington that has working people at the heart of it.”
