Chris Murphy: The Russians Are Offering Trump Business Deals, Which Is Causing Him to Consider ‘Selling out Ukraine’

MURPHY: “Oh, absolutely. And there‘s open reporting on this. When the Russians have come to the United States, I think the most recently, they came to Miami to meet with Jared Kushner and other members of the Trump national security team. They put on the table business deals, right? The way that the Russians think this thing is going to wrap up is that Trump is going to sell Ukraine out in exchange for Trump essentially getting access to all sorts of Russian business arrangements that he can hand out to his friends. And that‘s all Trump cares about is getting rich and his friends getting rich. This isn‘t me sort of engaging in wild conjecture. This has been pretty widely reported that the Russians are offering them business deals, and that is causing Trump to seriously consider selling out Ukraine. Now, he also, you know, likes a fight between a dictatorship and a and a democracy. He‘s always going to weigh in on the side of the dictatorship. But I think this is basically just about Trump getting rich.”
