Rahm Emanuel to Democrats: ‘Don‘t Just Do Investigations, Bring Change’; Voters Don’t Want ‘Democratic Version of the Hunger Games’

‘Corruption is the number one issue’

EXCERPT:

EMANUEL: “But the thing I would say today, if I were in the leadership, is within the first three months, we‘re going to pass a comprehensive ethics reform, ban on stock trading for all three branches. Ban on prediction markets, mandatory retirement age, mandatory blind trust, and a ban on foreign money in your post business. Make a commitment by time frame certain you will have an ethics package off the House floor that captures the fact that corruption is the number one issue, Kasie, out there. And people of all, which is the biggest break here, is you have Romney Republicans leaving the Republican Party, as the Post showed in their poll, 28 percent of them are voting for Democrats. Don‘t just do investigations, bring change. They don‘t want a Democratic version of the Hunger Games. They want change. And if you deliver change, you can lock in these victories and make them permanent in just a single election.”
