Feds Subpoena Ilhan Omar’s Sister Over $33M Non-Profit Grants and International USAID Ventures
EXCERPT:
BROOKS: "Okay. I also want to point this part out about the subpoenas of her family, Omar's family members, specifically her sister, all right? A sister of Ms. Omar, Sahra Noor, received a subpoena, as did at least one other member of the family circle, that is according to people familiar with this investigation. And there's some reporting on this that I have found quite interesting here, I want to read through some of it. Omar's elder sister, Sahra Noor, states on her LinkedIn profile that she was the sea of what’s called People’s Center Clinics & Services from July 2014 to April 2018, and in January of 2017, Omar began her two-year term as member of the Minnesota House of Representatives. Okay? And then here’s where the money comes in for this, for the People’s Center Clinics. The 2017 capital budget, approved by the state legislature, included $2.2 million for the clinic, which operates as a nonprofit that has received $33 million in Health and Human Services grants since 2002. $33 million. That’s a lot. Then all of a sudden, okay, the sister, she leaves our country.”
