J.D. Vance on GOP Pulling Money out of N.J. Races: New Jersey Is a Very Blue State
EXCERPT:
VANCE: "No, I mean, look, New Jersey is a very blue state. It was always gonna be a really, really big thing for us to win in New Jersey. But I think there are a number of races, for example, in Minnesota, in traditional blue areas, where we think we have a real chance. So I think the nature of a midterm elections is sometimes these races have more of an individual rather than national character. I feel good about where we are. We know that we are swimming upstream. And I try to remind Republican voters all the time, it is historically unusual for a president whose party controls the Senate and the House, usually that party will lose the midterm elections. So we know that we’re swimming against some serious historical trends here, but I think that we have as good a chance as I’ve ever seen to really defy those historical trends. So, we aren’t giving up anywhere. We're just trying to win the races that we can and focus where we can.”
