GOP Sen. McCormick: The Economic Warfare Against Iran Is Working

MCCORMICK: “The other thing we should know is that this economic warfare by the Trump Administration the president’s taken is working. So, we see a devastating impact on the Iranian economy. Inflation’s up 80 percent. The currency has depreciated by 40 percent. Growth is down by 6 percent, unemployment’s over 10 percent. So, this is strangling the Iranian regime. And ultimately, I think this is going to lead to either a complete disintegration of that leadership or a capitulation where they’re actually going to do what the president’s asked them to do, which is give up their nuclear program. And I think that path is working. What they do to try to change the outcome of the elections at the last minute, I wouldn’t put anything off the table.”
