Scott Jennings: Regardless of the Midterm Results — ‘Trump Is Still Supreme in the Republican Party’

‘He sets the agenda for the party’

EXCERPT:

JENNINGS: “But regardless of the results here, look, Trump is still supreme in the Republican Party, okay? He still is sort of the north star for the party. He sets the agenda for the party. He‘s changed the party‘s attitude on a number of issues. And I don‘t think that‘s going to change based on these particular election results. Also, the fact that he‘s going all over the country and doing all these events, I don‘t remember George W. Bush doing that many events in 2006. We did a few in a couple of places and a lot of fundraising behind the scenes. But he‘s a lot more public than you might imagine based on his numbers, which tells you the theory behind the case. Get Republicans engaged in the election and go out and rally some of the base, some of these — look, there‘s some Republicans that are concerned and are disappointed or upset about this, that or the other. But he has to remind them that it‘s a choice: 'Do you want me or do you want to stick your face in a socialist woodchipper?' And he could make the case."
