Brett McGurk on Livestreaming Hasan’s Execution: ‘Do Not Cross This Line From Doing Justice ... to Public Spectacle’

RUSH EXCERPT:

MCGURK: "I mean, that video of the secretary of defense on a on an aircraft carrier, I think it seemed to be like again, I go back to the Putin call. Was this something that was well thought through, well staffed, well prepared? It seems like it wasn’t. but in any case, I think it’s good you’re talking about it tonight because it’s a terrible idea. And if you I think if you talk to the experts who’ve dealt with counterterrorism and extremist groups, they would say the same thingi. Do not cross this line from doing justice, which must be done to public spectacle. It kind of plays into the hands of these horrible extremist groups who, by the way, are still out there.”
