Gov. DeSantis: Hurricane Isaias Could Spin Off Tornado Activity

‘The National Hurricane Center is giving hourly updates on the positioning’

EXCERPT:

DESANTIS: “So, you’re going to have damage on that and then you’re going to have tornadoes spun off in some of these areas. And that could be, I mean, you could have tornadic activity in Tallahassee and very far away from the actual eye of the storm. So, what I would tell Floridians is, obviously, if you’re in the pathway, make sure that you finish your preparations. There’s going to be impact from this far, far outside the National Hurricane Center’s cone, particularly when you’re talking about some of the tornadoes that will happen. And then what’s going to happen, as the eye of the storm moves north into Alabama, you’re going to end up having some of these trailing bands that are going to be pretty nasty and they’re going to stretch, really, pretty much the entire part of northern Florida. It’s going to be nasty throughout the early morning hours of Saturday and even into, I think, Saturday afternoon. So, for the next 24 to 36 hours, you know, you’re going to see some nasty weather one way or another if you’re in this part of the state.”
