Walter Isaacson: You Have a Group of People Trying to Self-Regulate When They Don’t Trust Each Other Is a Problem

‘And it’s actually a systemic problem here’

EXCERPT:

ISAACSON: "You know, this is a problem because there’s no obvious answer. You look at an Elon Musk or you look at a Sam Altman, they don’t trust each other. And certainly Dario Amodei doesn’t trust Sam Altman. So, the notion that you have a group of people trying to self-regulate when they don’t trust each other is a problem. And it’s actually a systemic problem here, which is you’re building one of the most powerful but also most dangerous technologies, and you have maybe eight or ten people that nobody exactly trusts in charge. That’s probably not the best way to do things."
