Trade Rep Amb. Greer: Trump Is Very Comfortable with His Trade Policy, It’s Led to Deficit Reduction

GREER: “And the president is very comfortable with his trade policy. He’s proud of it. It’s led to deficit reduction. We have 72,000 new manufacturing jobs this year. We have 110,000 new factory construction jobs. So, for us, the numbers are going in the right direction, GDP growth past two quarters was revised up for 2.2 percent, 2.5 percent in Q1. So, we like where the numbers are going. We like how the trade policy has helped it, coupled with our energy policy, the tax credits for businesses and households. So, we like where we’re going. When the Canadians want to get to yes, obviously, we’ll be there ready to talk.”
