FRIEDMAN: “And so, this whole story, I think, about AI, and data centers is just part of it. We should be having a national conversation about it. I tell you, just personally, I was horrified. Just horrified by the picture of Trump surrounded by the 20 tech bros at the White House, who agreed amongst each other on something they wrote on the back of an envelope how they’re going to deal with this. I think that was just appalling. And again, if I were them, I would be thinking, I’m so exposed here. If something bad goes wrong, rather than have had a national buy-in, we brought the Congress together. We pulled people, we listened to things and then we made a decision. But we made a collective decision. We made it in the name of we the people, not we the tech bros. I think we’D be so much better off, but we are incapable today of managing a national conversation.”
