Jane Doe’s Attorney: ‘The Whole Fraternity Had Meetings to Try to Cover This Up’

‘All they were interested in was protecting the fraternity, protecting their fraternity brothers, and keeping it as business as usual’

EXCERPT:

GIUFFRA: “As I've said before, she was processing what happened to her that night. At first, it was denial. Then it was shame. Then it was acceptance and she was trying to understand what happened because she didn't know. You heard her mention 8 to 10 people were in the room. That's what I said the other day. We don't know. We identify the people she knows. So she was trying to get information. She was trying to get these people to tell her what happened and you could see just what happened in the last clip that you played. Once they figured out that she was trying to get information and they weren't buying into the gaslighting, then they backed up. And another thing I found out today is that the whole fraternity had meetings to try to cover this up and to, you know, be part of the conspiracy of silence. And that's really frightening that this happened. I mean, these guys, there were 57 people who got that group chat and not one of them, other than the person who leaked it to her, did anything. Nobody walked out of those meetings and said, hey, this is wrong. We're going to the police. We're throwing these guys under the bus and holding them accountable. All they were interested in was protecting the fraternity, protecting their fraternity brothers and keeping it as business as usual. That's what they were interested in. Not justice. Not in this woman.”
