Don Lemon: CNN Wanted to Make Room for MAGA

LEMON: "It was ideological. They wanted to move the network to the right. They did not make a secret of it. They said that publicly, they wanted to move the network to the right. Internally, what they were saying to us is they wanted to make room for MAGA because Donald Trump was a huge figure and they thought, by moving to the right, that they would get conservative views. It never works. Unless you’re going to become FOX and you’re going to say in legal documents that you are entertainment, you should be seen as a legitimate news organization, then, you know, that’s the only way you’re going to do it, is if you continually carry water for one ideologically, the left or right. That’s the only way it’s going to work. And I don’t think CNN is ever going to do that. So they wanted to move the network to the right. I asked them what their election denial policy was or their insurrection denial policy was, and they didn’t have one. And as a journalist, I don’t believe that you should put people on who -- and invite them on the air to lie to the American people. It’s a privilege to be on CNN, it's not a right."
