Rahm Emanuel: I Don’t Believe Socialists Are a Wing, I Believe They Are a Separate Party

TRANSCRIPT:

EMANUEL: “I don’t believe that socialists are a wing, I think they are a separate party. They believe in defunding the police, which is not the party’s position. They believe in open borders and open prisons. That’s not the party’s position. When you switch that, we can talk. (...) And I don’t think that is where the party is. I think the party is in the pragmatic wing and you can see that in the governors of Virginia, you can see that in the governor of New Jersey, how they both won their primaries. And you can also see, when you look at the primary process in Michigan and Wisconsin, take the states, 50% of the vote was not what you call the most dominant voice.”
