Dem Sen. Warner: We Are Not Being Briefed on Iran by the White House

EXCERPT:

WARNER: “Well, one of the unfortunate things is we are not being briefed on any regular basis. During the Trump’s first term, I disagreed with him on many issues, but he had, you know, very good people in many of these positions. We were briefed on a regular basis. I’m part of the Gang of Eight. I’m supposed to see everything. We are not getting those regular briefings. And as we know, we don’t know all the background on the flight. But it appeared to maybe have been a lone wolf. I mean, you could still have that same kind of situation in America. I would have expected more briefings in terms of the now five suspects that were arrested in the U.K. But this, again, kind of goes to the fact that we started this war on our own, without any allies, without them being involved. Remember, in many ways, our European allies, I think some of them would have sided with us. The Iranian regime is awful, but they were focused on the president’s efforts to try to take over Greenland of all, you know, crazy things and consequently we’re kind of on this alone. And I fear that many, much of the kind of anger across people who are upset with the world order across the board, frankly, are being more directed at Americans than some of our partners.”
