Gov. Abbott on $7.5B Check from DHS Over Border Costs: We’re Not Finished in Ensuring That Texas Gets Back Every Dollar We Can

Abbott: “Because of all the efforts that that all of us put in a I spent time tying in in working with members of the United States Congress, as was the Trump Administration about what Texas was able to do in conquest, then took the lead, especially the Republican members of the United States Congress. Texas they spearheaded the effort of my request to ensure the taxes would be reimbursed for the cause that we had to incur to save the United States of America right over here, because, step aside, is a check from the United States Department of Homeland Security to the people, the state of Texas for seven point. Five billion dollars reimbursing us for the cause we incurred to secure our border. To be clear to the media do because of what the United States Congress did again with the leadership of the Republicans in Texas. They allocated money. Some of it goes to Department of Homeland Security, and this is what Texas has received from the Department of Homeland Security. There’s another three billion dollars. It was allocated to the United States Department of Justice. Texas will be applying for our share of that money from the United States Department of Justice. This is a great for a start, but we’re not yet finished and assuring that Texas gets back for every dollar that we can talk. Reimbursed, all of us for the cost that we incurred”
