‘Right now, he’s the default pick’
EXCERPT:
FINLEY: “Well, I think right now he’s in the position, he’s the default pick. If you look at the polls, he’s polling about second behind Kamala Harris. I think Kamala Harris’s lead is purely based on her name recognition, the fact that she was the VP. And right now, Newsom, well, he’s got a — he hasn’t had — he doesn’t have a great record, but the left views that he’s pushing their policies. He’s resisting, opposing Trump and he’s the most prominent Democrat in the field right now compared to, you hear about Josh Shapiro, who really isn’t exciting the base as much as people thought. J.B. Pritzker, the Illinois governor, who probably has an even worse record than Gavin Newsom. So there really isn’t great alternatives.”
