Liz Peek Slams Mamdani’s Agenda Against Wealthy People: ‘How Stupid Can You Get?’
EXCERPT:
PEEK: “Yes. And by the way, let’s just tie this ‘tax the rich’ campaign and the pied-à-terre tax to affordability. What’s happened, Stuart, is anybody with a brain now isn’t going to buy if they’re non-resident in New York City. What’s happened? Rents have gone up 10 percent. What did Mamdani run on mainly? His main thing? Bringing rents down. So, of course anyone with an economics understanding was going to understand that that is exactly the expected outcome from what he has done. It is unbelievable. By the way, the next step in his campaign against wealthy people, targeting CEOs. How stupid can you get? New York is already losing residents. They’re losing businesses. So, he’s going to go after and humiliate one CEO after another. Are those CEOs going to expand in New York? Are there — is anyone, in his right mind, going to bring a new business to New York? No. And by the way, the financial capital of the world, which historically has been New York, we are bleeding financial jobs to Texas right now. In many ways, they have — and many companies have more employees in Texas than they do in New York. There is nothing about this that makes sense and there’s nothing about this that helps the average New Yorker.”
