Scott Jennings: Resettlement of South Africans Is a ‘Reprioritization’ of the Refugee Program

JENNINGS: "Let me give you two other things the administration said, which I agree with. Number one, populations that we resettle here ought to agree, ironclad agree to assimilation. And number two, populations that we resettle and allow here ought to be able to support themselves. Right now, there are Democrats across the country suing the administration over their use of the public charge rule. There are a number of reasons why the administration has reprioritized the refugee program. But to say that the population doesn‘t deserve it, I just don‘t think it‘s true. Even if you agree -- let‘s say we all agree there‘s no actual definition genocide. That doesn‘t mean they don‘t qualify for some sort of resettlement based on the administration's priorities and judgment."
