Karl Rove on J.D. Vance Saying Tariffs Would Pay for Trump’s $5,000 Checks: ‘With All Due Respect to the Vice President, It Doesn’t Make Any Sense’

‘Tariffs are not going to pay for more than a trillion-dollar cost ‘

RUSH EXCERPT:

ROVE: “Well, actually, with all due respect to the vice-president, it doesn’t make any sense. Tariffs are, you know, not going to pay for the trillion, more than a trillion dollar cost of sending $5,000 to every adult. In fact, the vice-president tried to trim back the president by saying we’re only going to send it to the middle class. Define the middle class. As we know, the several hundreds of millions of dollars, billions of dollars have been collected by tariffs and a bunch of it, the majority of it the Supreme Court said you didn’t have the right to impose and so it’s going to be returned. So, yes, where is the cost going to be? The administration doesn’t seem to know. The secretary of commerce lutnick said it’s going to come from dividends from the profit we made by investing in companies like intel. He said we’ve invested in intel the stock prices gone up and the U.S. government $50 billion. You only need 20 more instances like that to get to a trillion dollars.
