Rep. Joe Neguse: ‘I Have Every Expectation That We’re Going to Succeed in Federal Court’ Against Trump’s Election Efforts
RUSH EXCERPT:
NEGUSE: "I think that it’s very clearly designed to do three things. One, to try to undergird the efforts that he’s engaged in, which are unconstitutional, to ultimately subvert a free and fair election. And as you noted, those efforts have failed thus far. We’ve been very active in litigation. The amicus brief that you mentioned on the part of the Republican election officials, and a brief that we led the litigation task force with over 250 members of Congress, including former Republican members of Congress. I have every expectation that we’re going to succeed in federal court and that his effort will fail. Secondly, I think he’s doing that because he wants to create fear, and he wants to to try to create an environment in which less people will vote. But finally, and perhaps maybe most importantly, in his view, I suspect, is this effort to get his supporters and the sycophants that, you know, still adhere to his world view that ultimately they deny the results of the election, irrespective of whether or not they lose the election."
