WEISSMANN: "Well, I not to not to sort of be maudlin, but we we are on the 20th anniversary of nine over 11. And where my head goes is, you know, I was in the department then. And one of the things that was a common refrain and mantra in the department, but also in the country writ large, was to embrace the rule of law and due process and essentially don’t let the terrorists win. And that is, we have to stand for what who we are in this country and what our beliefs are, because that’s what was trying to be torn down 25 years ago with the murder of thousands of Americans and others that were commemorating today, and to see what has happened to the rule of law in this country. And it’s it’s bigger than just the Department of Justice, because obviously it’s emanating from the Oval Office is so telling in terms of 25 years.”
