Van Jones on Trump’s 9/11 Remarks: ‘I Don’t Think It’s a Time to Try to Whip Up Support for Your New War’

JONES: “I don‘t. I think it was in poor form. Um, look, you know, I was down there today. Uh, it‘s emotional. It‘s really powerful. And there were obviously people who had lost family members. They were touching the the marble where their family names were and taking pictures. I don‘t think it‘s a time to try to whip up support for your new war. And by the way, um, Iran and Iraq are not the same country. Uh, Iraq is a Sunni Muslim country. Iran mainly a Shia persian country. And neither had anything to do with 9/11. So what are you doing? Uh, I think it was in poor form. Uh, but I tell you, you know, uh, that was a great day when Americans did come together and you saw it today in New York City. And I think he was out of touch with the feelings of most Americans today. >> The president. >> Was, I think the president was out of touch.
