Kellyanne Conway to Republican Candidates: ‘You Need to Run Your Races as Well,’ You Have to Do What Trump Does

CONWAY: “It’s a winner on the trail. President Trump has given the Republicans a blueprint and now they have to sell it. Always be selling. Let’s talk math here. Just about 5% of the total house represents a competitive district and if you look at the toss ups it’s about 21 toss up seats, probably split between Democrats and Republicans right now. It’s going to come down to turnout as it always does but I think the convention’s main premise was if you tuned out now, turn up then. Nobody can do that like Trump because the Democrats don’t have a leader on their side that can raise hundreds of millions of dollars, go to those 35 districts in 30 days and make the case. But I would say to our candidates, you need to run your race as well. They all get Trump’s endorsement, many of them, and they lay back and think that’s enough. You have to do what Trump does. He’s out there six or seven stops a day when his name is truly on the ballot.”
