HASSETT: “Well, don’t forget, the president said that that $5,000 would be something that would happen should we win, keep the House and the Senate. And if that happens, then a logical place where something like that might happen would be through a reconciliation process where Republicans work with the White House to come up with a way to get some of the riches that have basically been pouring into the United States back to the American people in a fiscally responsible way. And I’m sure that that’s what the president intends.”
