REPORTER: "So you're advising that the president goes through some kind of reconciliation process to get this done? And did you come up with the number? Is that what Republican vote costs?"

HASSETT: "You know, we don’t talk at the White House about who advises what. But I can say that the president thinks it is very, very important that all of the success that we’ve generated, the almost $20 trillion in investment that’s coming in, that's really stampeding into the U.S., that all that needs to be returned to the American people, especially if we can cut government spending so that we can do it in a fiscally responsible way."
