PERINO: “This comes as the national gas price average is at $4.22. You can see that there. And it’s taking a bite out of paychecks. You did not have enough votes in the Senate to pass the SAVE Act. A lot of people unhappy about that. Would you have enough votes to pass a $5,000 dividend to every American?”
THUNE: “Well, that’s a good question, Dana, and we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it. And obviously, as the president, the condition he put on it is elect us. And I think the focus, the emphasis that he was making there, and I think this is a real — this is a clear one between us and the Democrats, is he wants more money in the pockets of the American people.”
