Ari Melber to Pete Navarro: Do You Really Want to Live in an America Where the Gov’t Is Deciding What’s on the Air?

‘Is that the America that you and the Trump Administration are pitching?

EXCERPT:

MELBER: "Do you want to live in — and I’m asking you quite seriously. You work at the White House, you’re very close to President Trump. We’ve talked before in our reporting. Do you want to live in a country, really, Peter, where the government is deciding what’s on the air, what’s not on the air, who runs the company and who speaks on the company? Is that the America that you and the Trump Administration are pitching?"
NAVARRO: "See, you’re extrapolating a whole lot from the fact that me as an individual think that Suzanne Scott should be out of here -- "
MELBER: "You just called for her to be fired. You just called for her to be fired tonight."
NAVARRO: "I called for her to be fired. I’m not doing it as the White House. I’m doing it as me. But let me — let me give you a little backstory."
MELBER: "Explain that to me. Wait. Go ahead. Explain that to me. Explain that to me."
NAVARRO: "But I know this woman going back -- going back to 2020. She’s — "
MELBER: "Are you — hold on. I’m taking you seriously, Peter. Are you saying that you’re not representing the Trump Administration, the White House? You are in this dispute because you work for the president and you did call for her to be fired. Now you're saying that’s not the view of President Trump?"
