Energy Sec. Wright: ‘Nobody Loves Low Gas Prices More than President Trump’; ‘He’s Been Relentless on That Pursuit’
EXCERPT:
WRIGHT: “Well, as short as possible. Nobody loves low gas prices more than President Trump. He’s been relentless on that pursuit since the day he came to office. But he was unwilling to kick the can down to his successor with a nuclear armed Iran. So, he’s trying to do a balance here, do the right thing for our children and grandchildren, prevent Iran that could threaten world energy supplies for decades to come. He was going to bring that to an end right now. It’s about refining, is even a bigger problem than oil right now. And Russia’s war in Ukraine has led to a devastation of Russian refining capacity. That’s really driven up diesel prices, and it’s also pushed up gasoline prices. The Democrats’ efforts under Biden Administration to close over a dozen refineries in the United States. Gavin Newsom closing two more just in the last 12 months. That’s really the long pole in the tent right now, is refining.”
