WEST: "We produced Fannie Lou, we produced John Coltrane, we produced Curtis Mayfield at our best. We got our gangsters, because I got a lot of gangster in me, pray for me, but the point is, is that this is deeper than just politics, deeper than Republican Party, deeper than the Democratic Party. We talk about something human. And we‘re losing it. We‘re losing it. You erase that history, all the rest is sounding — "
SINGLETON: "And we shouldn't erase it because it is, I would argue, a beautiful part of the American story."
WEST: "Oh my God, yeah."
SINGLETON: "To the point that you‘re articulating, Dr. West. And for me, as a conservative, I say embrace it. Embrace it. You look at the number of black capitalists, business owners, entrepreneurs, and you say this — you want this. You want to tell this story."
