Jason Rantz: Mamdani Has to Cut Ties with Hasan Piker over 9/11 Comments
EXCERPT:
RANTZ: "I do think Mamdani is in a very difficult spot. Because he doesn‘t show up, it just brings a greater spotlight to the concerns of folks. He does have to show up. I don‘t think he‘s making it necessarily easy on himself here. Just within the last week, handing the symbolic 9/11 pen to the al-Qaeda defense attorney was a bad look going into this, with the context of the complaints about him showing up. I also think as much as, you know, we said, well, you know, in retrospect, I don‘t like the comments from Hasan Piker. Hasan Piker comments and all, that‘s been out there for a very long time. He embraced him anyway, and the Democrats embraced him anyway. And I do think that it is fair to criticize that relationship until you completely cut ties, not just say, 'Well, that one comment I disagree with.' We either disagree with the person who has a history of these kinds of disgusting comments, or you don‘t, and you‘re just going to use him politically when it benefits you."
