Abdul El-Sayed on Hasan Piker: ‘Doesn’t Make Sense’ to Just ‘Categorically Disavow an Individual’

‘There are three million people who listen to Hasan’

EXCERPT:

EL-SAYED: “I mean — I mean, sure. But the bigger question is this, how do we want to exchange ideas? And the big question that I often want us to be stepping back and asking is, what is democracy for? Right. The idea that you just categorically disavow an individual, that to me doesn’t make sense given that there are going to be things that people say that you deeply disagree with, you should disavow those things.”

SMITH: “Even when he says that America brought 9/11 on itself? Even that [inaudible]?”

EL-SAYED: “And then he disavowed it himself.”
