Shermichael Singleton Urges Maria Cardona to Give Mike Johnson ‘A Little Grace’ on His Iran War Position

‘So, there‘s a lot for the House Speaker to kind of deal with right now’

EXCERPT:

SINGLETON: "Look, I don‘t think ceding power has started with this administration. I think for a long time, the executive branch has been consuming more and more authorization on a number of fronts. That‘s neither here nor there. Look, I think this is challenging for the House Speaker. He clearly wants to support the president and not get ahead of the president, while also maintaining his majority and what is apparently going to be some serious diminishing returns after November. And so I think if you‘re Mike Johnson, you‘re trying to figure out, 'If we lose the majority, what is going to be the Republican agenda? How do we make sure that our candidates are in a strong position come 2028, when President Trump is no longer in the White House?' You have to ask that question. Do we even still see the same turnout numbers? So there‘s a lot for the House Speaker to kind of deal with right now, Maria, I‘m going to give him a little grace on this. A little grace."
